Hillary and the Holiday Cookies
Hillary, the Chi-poo, knew Christmas was near when the house filled with the sweet smell of sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla. It meant one thing- cookie time
!
Her owner, Emma, loved baking Christmas cookies every December. She rolled out dough, cut festive shapes, and decorated them with swirls of icing and sprinkles that sparkled like winter snow. And Hillary? She was always right by Emma’s side, watching with eager eyes, her tiny paws tapping excitedly on the kitchen floor
Every time Emma opened the oven, a warm, buttery scent floated through the air. Hillary sniffed and wagged her tail so fast, it looked like she might fly away!
“Hillary, you’re my little baking buddy,” Emma laughed, scratching her fluffy ears.
One snowy afternoon, as Emma finished icing a tray of gingerbread men, she heard a tiny crunch!
She turned and found Hillary happily nibbling on a cookie that had fallen to the floor. Her ears perked up, and she gave Emma an innocent look—as if to say, “Who, me?
”
Emma laughed. “I think you love Christmas cookies more than I do!”
From that day on, Hillary got a special dog-friendly Christmas treat every year. Emma would always bake Hillary a special batch of fancy, dog-friendly treats. And each holiday season, as the cookies baked and the snow fell outside, Hillary knew that Christmas was truly the sweetest time of all
